Working Materials

Fibrous plaster and glass reinforced gypsum (GRG) share a number of common characteristics:

  • Can produce very high quality finished surfaces, with seamless jointing
  • Very versatile and flexible with respect to design intent achievable
  • Inherently non-combustible, with a Class 0 rating for surface spread of flame
  • Mouldings are dimensionally stable and will not sag or warp
  • Resistant to humidity, neither will support the growth of bacteria or other micro organisms
  • No deterioration over time under normal conditions
  • Easily worked on site, with no health hazards presented
  • The plaster surface will accept most oil or water–based paints or, alternatively, pigmentation may be cast-in
